These brownies were labelled best by David Lebovitz. He mentioned mistrusting recipes that were named “The Ultimate” or “The World’s Finest”. But he found no other way to name these brownies, except as best. So of course I had to try them!
The method of making these brownies brings to mind another recipe – Katharine Hepburn’s Brownies. It also mentions having to beat the brownie batter vigorously.
The amazing thing is, as you are beating the batter vigorously, the grainy batter transforms to become smooth, thick and silky-looking. This step is crucial to making fudgy brownies.
These taste really amazing! I baked them for 25 minutes and they were just nice.
